Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Monday stated that the Congress would take up the rampant corruption of YSR Congress president and Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as prime agenda in by-elections campaign.
Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, he said that the party would go for by-elections campaign with the welfare schemes launched for poor and middle class, particularly women and development agenda, apart from taking corruption issue of Jagan Mohan Reddy. Stating that the people would not believe Jagan’s malicious campaign against the government, he said that the people would teach a fitting lesson to him in the ensuing by-elections. “The people should realise that the by-elections were caused due to selfish-interests of a few people,” he said.
Stating that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has not diluted any welfare schemes of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy as being alleged by Jagan, the PCC chief said that the government continued all programmes despite financial constraints. He warned Jagan of serious consequences if he fails to stop such malicious campaign against the ruling party.
Botsa also slammed Telugu Desam president N Chandrababau Naidu for resorting to personal targeting on him on liquor syndicates' issue. He said that Naidu, who failed to explain how he earned 2,000 acres from 2 acres of land, has no moral right to target him on corruption and Congress government.
As Naidu failed to provide good governance, the PCC chief said the people voted out TDP in 2004 and 2009 elections and forced him to sit in the opposition. He expressed confidence that the Congress party would win the by-elections despite the vicious campaign launched by Jagan and Chandrababu Naidu.
