Communist Party of India MLA K Sambasiva Rao on Friday demanded that the State Government order judicial probe into the police encounter that took place at Arupaka village of Venkatapuram mandal in Khammam district on Thursday night.

Talking to media persons at Assembly Media Point, Sambasiva Rao said that in the police encounter two teachers - T Narsinga Rao and M Babu Rao sustained grievous injuries and were undergoing treatment in Hyderabad.

Alleging that the police have killed at least 10 people in the name of naxal informers in the encounters, he demanded the government order judicial probe into the encounters and initiate stern action against the concerned Circle Inspector. He said that the government should arrest the responsible police officials on the charges of attempt to murder under Section 307 of IPC.

Sambasiva Rao also appealed to the government to pay a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to next to kin of family members of those killed in encounters and Rs 5 lakh to the injured.
