Bharatiya Janata Party leader LK Advani on Tuesday announced that the Bjp would support the Telangana Bill if it is introduced during the winter session of the Parliament.

Addressing a road show in Adilabad as part of his nation-wide Jana Chaitanya Yatra against corruption which entered Andhra Pradesh here on Tuesday, Advani criticised the UPA Government for going back on its words after promising formation of Telangana State. He said the Telangana agitation has been going on for the last several decades and the Congress has always tried to suppress the demand for statehood. He pointed out that there was a rise in the number of suicides seeking Telangana state.

"The people of this region have a clear demand that they want statehood for Telangana. Therefore, the Prime Minister should announce that the Telangana Bill will be introduced in the winter session of Parliament," Advani demanded. He also spoke about the rising corruption in the country and held the Congress-led UPA Government responsible for the same. He said the black money stashed in foreign banks should be brought back and used for the re-construction of the country.

On the first day of his three-day long Yatra, Advani addressed road shows in Dolara, Adilabad, Icchoda, Nirmal and Balkonda and Armoor of Nizambad district. On Wednesday the Yatra will start from Nizamabad and move towards Hyderabad covering Kamareddy, Sircilla, Siddipet, Pranjnapur and Shamirpet. Advani will address a public meeting in Hyderabad on October 19.

Senior Bjp leaders including State unit president G Kishan Reddy, former minister Bandaru Dattatreyya and former MLA Dr K Laxman were also present during the Yatra.
