Hyderabad, Oct 6: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Tuesday axed the Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) members for defying the party whip. A release from the TDP on Tuesday said that eight ZPTC members from Karimnagar, including three women, have been placed under suspension for defying the party whip issued during the polls held for the Karimnagar ZP chairman’s post on September 30.Those eight TDP ZPTC members suspended from the party are: Messrs Areti Ramesh (Gambhiraopet), Asampalli Kamalamma (Yeligedu), Katterla Yasoda (Julapalli), Lyagala Bhumaiah (Illanthakunta), Nagineni Jaganmohan Rao (Muttaram), Gundarapu Sobha (Saidapur), Yellala Jalapathi Reddy (Mallapur) and Kankanala Vijay Reddy (Huzurabad).

The release from the TDP general secretary, Mr M A Sharief, said that the suspension was imposed on the eight ZPTC members under directions from the state party leadership.All these eight members of the Karimnagar Zilla Parishad have reportedly voted for the Congress candidate resulting in the election of the Congress nominee to the post of the Zilla Parishad Chairman.
