The Telangana Rashtra Samithi demanded a thorough probe into the police action against the students of Kakatiya University in Warangal.

Talking to reporters here on Friday, Trs deputy floor leader T Harish Rao alleged that the police used third degree methods on students who raised `Jai Telangana’ slogans in the police station. Asking the State Government to order a comprehensive probe into the entire episode, he asked Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and other Telangana Ministers to give an explanation over the incident.

The Trs leader demanded the suspension of Warangal Rural Deputy Superintendent of Police Venkata Narsaiah for using third degree methods on students in the police station. During police interrogation, he said, one Yakub Reddy was severely beaten up to the extent that he was not in a position to walk now.

According to sources, the DSP threatened to encounter those students who raise Telangana issue. The police arrested 16 students of Kakatiya University for vandalizing the house of Information and Technology Minister Ponnala Laxmaiah for not submitting his resignation demanding Telangana state.
