Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Monday asked the 26 Congress MLAs, who shifted their loyalties to Jagan Mohan Reddy’s camp, as to what they did for people of their constituency in the last two years.
Talking to media persons after completing his second day visit in East Godavari district, Botsa alleged that the MLAs did nothing for the welfare of people except supporting YSR Congress party president Jaganmohan Reddy in his Odarpu yatra. “The people have sent them to redress their problems for five years. However, the MLAs are wasting their precious time by participating in Odarpu yatra,” he said.
Botsa assured the farmers who have declared crop holiday in the Konaseema region in East Godavari district, that the government would take all measures for their welfare and find a solution by convening a meeting with the scientists and experts in agriculture.
He said the government has appointed senior bureaucrat Mohan Kanda to look into problems of farmers and he is likely to submit a report by next weekend. Once the government gets report, it will take steps for addressing farmers’ woes, he stated. Responding to the implementation of Swaminathan Committee’s recommendations, he said the government would take a decision on it soon. He also said the government would take measures for modernization canals soon.
