 The Additional Judge of Fourth Metropolitan Court, Secunderabad, Mr Seshubabu on Thursday remanded Mahipal Reddy, who was arrested on charges of making threatening calls to the Rajya Sabha member, Mr V Hanumantha Rao (Vhr), for his comments against late chief minister’s son Mr Jaganmohan Reddy, to judicial custody up to October 14.

The Amberpet police registered a case under Section 506 and 507 IPC (Criminal Intimidation and Anonymous Communication for threatening) in this regard and arrested Mahipal Reddy.

Talking to media, Amberpet police station Circle Inspector Somasekhar said that the accused had made threatening calls to Vhr warning him not to speak against late YSR’s son Jaganmohan Reddy.

The Circle Inspector told that Mahipal Reddy had confessed his statement. Mahipal said that he made the remarks against Hanumantha Rao during inebriated state and sought apology from him.

Earlier, Mahipal Reddy was worked as Gram Sarpanch. He was also elected president of Mandal parishad and block Congress committee. Mahipal told during interrogation that he was the close confidante of Hanumantha Rao.
