KTR alleges disrespect to Martyrs, to plea before NHRC

Alleging disrespect to the Martyrs from Telangana, Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA KT Rama Rao on Friday announced that the TRS would lodge a petition before the National Human Rights Commission to protest against the indifferent attitude of Andhra Pradesh Bhavan officials in New Delhi and by the city police in Hyderabad over the final journey of Yadireddy, who had committed suicide for the cause of separate statehood.

Talking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan, K T Rama Rao alleged the AP Bhavan officials had insulted Telangana leaders by not allowing them to pay homage to Yadireddy’s body and shifted it without informing them.

“We will highlight the denial of our basic right of paying homage to a Martyr. We will also highlight the irresponsible behaviour of the officials of sending Yadireddy’s body to Hyderabad like an orphan, in our petition to the NHRC,” KTR said.

The TRS MLA further condemned the AP Bhavan officials for giving a letter to the police to shift the body to the airport directly.

KTR also alleged that the media was controlled by the Seemandhra leaders and said that, “the media is highlight the incident in which MLA Harish Rao slapped AP Bhavan OSD Chander Rao. Why has the media failed to highlight the 600 suicides for Telangana?”

He also defended his party colleague, saying that Harish Rao had slapped the OSD in a fit of rage, and has already apologised for the incident.

“The AP Bhavan is actually a Seemandhra Bhavan. Only two of the 119 employees working there are from Telangana,” KTR further said.

Alleging that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy took three days to condole the death of Yadireddy, the TRS leader wondered what had prompted Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy to respond to the slapping incident within three minutes.

He also wondered why the Chief Minister is not taking disciplinary action against MLAs Payyavula Keshav and T G Venkatesh for making provocative statements.

Party leader N Laxman Rao demanded the employees in the AP Bhavan withdraw the police complaint filed against Harish Rao, Etela Rajender and T Vinod Kumar.
