“The leaders would highlight the sentiments and aspirations of the people of Seemandhra regions over the calls for division of the state before the High Command, Mr Rajagopal said.

The elected representatives from Seemandhra region will make their best efforts and try to keep the state integrated, the Vijayawada MP said.

He added that he was confident that the Centre would find an amicable solution to the statehood issue within a month respecting the sentiments of the people of Seemandhra regions.

The businessman-cum-politician reiterated his statement that he would contest elections in the Telangana region if the High Command gives him permission to do so. “I am confident that I would win in the Telangana region with a thumping majority,” he said.

Reacting to this statement, Telugu Desam Party MLA from Karimnagar Gangula Kamalakar stated that people of Telangana would leave the country if Mr Rajagopal wins in the region.

He told media persons in Karimnagar that Mr Rajagopal was making these statements as he was bitten by mad dog. The MLA advised the MP to undergo medical tests to ensure that he is not afflicted by rabies.

Mr Kamalakar also warned Mr Rajagopal that the people would not allow him to visit the region if he continues his tirade against Telangana.
