Expressing confidence that YSR Congress party will wins in the by-elections, the former RTC chairman said the state government was making futile attempts to capture the Kadapa seat by deputing women Ministers and others to campaign for the party.

Reminding that former prime minister Indira Gandhi had appointed Bhavanam Venkatram as chief minister of Andhra Pradesh despite his lack of experience, Mr Prakash wondered why Congress president Sonia Gandhi had repeated the same mistake committed by her mother-in-law and appointed N Kiran Kumar Reddy as Chief Minister. She repeated Indira Gandhi’s mistake despite Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy lacking the support of the people of his home constituency, Chittoor, Mr Prakash Rao said.

The former RTC chairman further pointed out that the YSR family traditionally hailed from the business community, and added that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy had been paying Income Tax before joining politics. “Why are they making such a fuss on his assets now,” he wondered

He added that both the TDP and Congress were making baseless charges of corruption against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy since they were afraid of losing in the by-elections.
