Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday condemned the rumours appeared in a section of media that TRS would be merged with the Congress.

Talking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan, the TRS chief stated there was no truth in the report and alleged some section of media, particularly from Seemandhra region, wants to spread rumours against TRS to get political mileage and to improve TRP ratings.

He requested the media to stop such malicious campaigns and act responsibly in a constructive manner.

He said “Such false reports will confuse people and create law and order problem.”

He said there was no question of merging TRS with the Congress.

He asked the cable operators to condemn such baseless reports and shun from airing such anti-Telangana programmes.

Further TRS Floor Leader Etela Rajender stated that they have never discussed the merger of TRS with Congress party anytime.

He said “TRS top priority is formation of Telangana state and for that it will be ready to sacrifice anything”.

He further stated “TRS will work for the welfare of its people, even after the formation of separate Telangana state”

Further Medak MP Vijayashanthi condemned the Congress party for dillydallying on Telangana issue.

She further stated to the media “The TRS is a big party in Telangana region, and how will it merge with smaller parties like the Congress.”
