Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday stated that his party has no plans of introducing any No Confidence motion against the N Kiran Kumar Reddy government during the Budget Session of Assembly scheduled to begin on February 17.

Talking to media persons in Madanapalli in Chittoor district, the former chief minister categorically stated that his party would not introduce any No Confidence motion to pull down the government.

Mr Naidu’s statement comes a day after Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao challenged the TDP to support the No Trust motion it has plans of introducing in the Budget Session. KCR had even tried to corner the TDP by saying that if it does not support the No Trust motion, that would give a clear signal that it lacked any commitment towards formation of separate Telangana state.

Putting the ball right back in the TRS court, Mr Naidu said that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi is covertly extending support to former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who is openly opposed to bifurcation of state.

The Leader of the Opposition also warned that his party would stall the proceedings in the Budget Session if the government failed to release arrears of fee reimbursement and scholarships to students pursuing engineering in private engineering colleges. He pointed out that the colleges’ managements had already issued an ultimatum to close down 600 colleges in event of government failing to release the fee arrears by February 16.

The TDP chief demanded that the government make a clear announcement on fee reimbursement and stop playing games with students’ careers and their lives.

He also criticized Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi for merging his party with the Congress. Mr Naidu said that Mr Chiranjeevi had thrown his ideology and principles to the wind by opting for a merger.

The former chief minister further alleged that Congress leaders are mortgaging the interests of state for posts offered by the party.

Demanding the UPA government’s resignation for its failure to contain rising prices of essential commodities, Mr Naidu repeated his allegations that Congress president Sonia Gandhi was involved in the scams which were coming to light at the Centre and State.
