Talking to media persons while participating in a Racha Banda programme, the actor-turned-politician also revealed that his party has not taken any decision on the Congress invitation as of yet.

Any decision on the alliance would be taken at a meeting of senior party leaders Mr Chiranjeevi said. He added that he will convene a meeting on February 3 or 4 of the party leaders so that a decision on the Congress invitation could be taken. “The final decision on alliance will be taken by party Political Affairs Committee meeting to be held on February 3 or 4,” the PRP chief stated.

Following the decision, “I will go to New Delhi and convey the party decision to the Congress leadership,” Mr Chiranjeevi revealed.

The PRP chief said that his party leaders would have to decide whether to support the Congress from outside or whether to join the government. He however ruled out any merger with the Congress, saying that media reports to this affect are ‘ridiculous.’

Meanwhile, the PRP MLAs on Tuesday condemned reports appeared in a section of media that PRP will merge with Congress party.

Party MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao said the Congress Core Committee member AK Anthony had come to extend Ms Sonia Gandhi’s invitation to PRP president Chiranjeevi at his residence. The invitation was only for talks about a future alliance, the MLA said.
