Mr Narasimhan said, “On this momentous occasion, I would like you all to join me in recalling the edifice of sacrifice and patriotism on which our nation has been built.”

He expressed confidence that the people of the state are equal to any challenge as a people and would continue our march with determination towards a glorious destiny as a State and as a Nation as well.

Mr Narasimhan said, “This is a time for all of us to make the dreams of our forefathers turn into a reality and render the Nation stronger. We recall with gratitude and deep reverence all those who have sacrificed their lives for pursuit of freedom, so that we could all live as free citizens and lead a dignified life.

Let us rededicate ourselves with a firm resolve to eschew violence and intolerance in all forms and make our great Republic, an abode filled with love, peace and tranquillity. Let brotherhood and amity prevail, heralding a prosperous future to our great State.

He said, “The challenges and hurdles are not new to us, and our country has successfully weathered them from time immemorial with resolve and determination. We confront challenges internal as well as external with an unflinching and unyielding spirit to forge ahead as the largest secular democracy in the world. Our achievements in Science and Technology apart, the achievements in various critical sectors such as agriculture, health, education and employment generation have transformed us into stronger and vibrant polity and economy.”

The Governor said, “Andhra Pradesh has always been at the forefront and a torch bearer to ensure food security, eradication of poverty, health and primary education at the grassroots level, as well as upliftment of the weaker sections.”

“I offer my heartfelt sympathies to our farming brethren who had to face the vicissitudes of nature’s fury. We are proud of their indomitable spirit and fortitude and our thoughts and hearts reach out to them,” he added.

Mr Narasimhan called on the people to pledge to carry the message of peace, stability and sustained growth to ensure a brighter future and prosperity to each of our citizens.
