Former chairman of RTC and senior Telangana Congress leader Gone Prakash Rao on Friday blamed Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao for provoking the students in the name of Telangana statehood agitation.

Talking to media persons at Public Gardens, the strong loyalist of former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy alleged the Telangana leader was playing with the lives of students by forcing them to take part in the agitations and boycotting the examinations.

Mr Prakash Rao also alleged that KCR was using students as pawns in the name of Telangana agitation and spoiling their bright future. He said the students were misled and are losing their valuable time and harming their academic career, not to mention the police cases against them due to their participation in the statehood agitation. The senior leader also said that the students were the ones to lose out when multinational companies come to offer them good job opportunities.

Mr Prakash Rao called upon the students not to heed KCR’s words and concentrate on their studies first.

He said the Centre would take a decision on bifurcation of state issue at an appropriate time and assured students there was no need to worry on the Telangana state formation issue.
