Mr Srinivas pointed out that the programme was aimed at monitoring the implementation of various welfare and developmental programmes at gram panchayat level.

He also appreciated the measures taken by the Chief Minister including provision of Rs 1,200 crore of the Rs 26,00 crore which would be incurred during the conducting of the programme.

As the Racha Banda programme intends to cover 18 lakh beneficiaries and over six lakh self-help groups, this would help the needy people to get speedy solutions to their problems, he added.

The PCC chief informed that all the presidents of District Congress Committees and City Congress Committees will be organising press conference on Saturday at 12 noon throughout the State to highlight the details of the benefits to the people in their districts.

Srinivas stated the `Racha Banda’ programme is basically reaching out for the poorer and weaker sections by solving issues of ration cards, pensions, housing, Pavala Vaddi, YSR Abhaya Hastam, Arogyasri and Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Scheme.

He asked the party leaders and workers to percolate the message of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and ensure benefits reaching the people through the programme sponsored by the State and Union governments.
