Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday called upon elected leaders to submit resignations to their posts in order to mount pressure on Centre to give in to the demand of a separate Telangana state.

Participating as chief guest in the ex-army officers’ conference being held at TRS Bhavan, KCR said that if the elected representatives submit their resignations, the Centre would bow down to the pressure and announce Telangana state immediately.

As elected representatives are in dilemma to submit resignations, the Centre is playing games with regards to making a decision of the creation of a Telangana state, he pointed out.

“The people of Telangana will repose their faith on those who resign to their posts and elect them with thumping majority,” the TRS chief said.

Reacting on Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav opposing to resignation of his post, KCR said that a few vested elements from Telangana region have become the thorns in the path of state formation since 1956.

“There is no meaning to democracy if the Centre fails to stand by its promise of Telangana state,” the man spearheading the separate statehood movement said.

He said no paramilitary force can stop the agitation for Telangana. “It is a not a street fight. It is a call of the people who desire a separate Telangana state,” KCR said.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee has called on the Telangana protagonists to stage Rasta Rokos from January 17 across the region and force the introduction of Telangana Bill in Budget Session of Parliament.

The TP JAC thanked the people and leaders for successfully conducting ‘Mulakat’ from January 11 to 16 seeking support of various leaders and parties for Telangana formation. They urged all party leaders to extend their cooperation to the Rasta Roko call and make it a big success.
