Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday vowed to continue his indefinite hunger strike until the government agrees to his demands of releasing an adequate compensation package for rain-hit farmers.

Mr Naidu told Minister for Health DL Ravindra that he will resist all attempts by the doctors to take medicines and will continue his fast till his demands are met.

Dr Ravindra had earlier visited the NIMS to inquire about his health condition from the doctors. The Health Minister urged Mr Naidu to call off his fast and advised him to take glucose to arrest the fall of his blood sugar levels.

According to sources, the TDP chief is refusing to take any medicine at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, where he was shifted by the police early on Monday morning.

Meanwhile, his son Lokesh Naidu and MLC Rajendra Prasad were also admitted to the NIMS for treatment of the injuries they had suffered during the lathi-charge by police at the New MLA Quarters early on Monday morning, when they attempt to stop the police from shifting Mr Naidu to hospital.

Mr Naidu’s wife, Bhuvaneswari Devi also visited the NIMS, along with many other political leaders.
