State getting back 'investor friendly' status: Geetha

There are strong indications that the state is again getting back its investor friendly status with some of the top industrialists like Mahindra, one of the probables, expressed their inclination to invest in the Andhra Pradesh, stated Minister for Major Industries, Sugar, Commerce and Export Promotion.

Ms Geetha Reddy, who assumed charge of her Ministry at the Secretariat on Friday, gave these details soon after the blessings showered on her by pundits, Islamic scholars and a priest from a church.

Stating that the state ranks 2nd in the country in respect of industrial investments, she said that she would do her part, putting in maximum effort to attract industrialist to start their units here to improve the climate for job generation among others.

If the state is lagging behind in respect of investments, she would put in efforts to catch up with the situation.

She also said that a French company is also showing interest to set up its unit here.

The reason behind the poor investments in the recent past is poor law and order situation, she stated, referring to the agitations launched by students, TRS  and other Telangana protagonists.

If only there was a good atmosphere and friendly environment, people will show interest in settling down here with huge investments, she said point blank.

Jana to strive for good governance

Panchayat Raj Minister Jana Reddy, who took charge today, told media persons that he would strive to offer good governance and check corruption with the cooperation and coordination among the officers at different levels.

Stating that he is confident to do his best, the Minister said that he was not new to this seat as he was always having service as his motto. He thanked the party president Sonia Gandhi and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for having given him a chance to show his mettle.

Mr Jana Reddy also also extended his greetings to Ms Sonia Gandhi on her 65th birthday.
