Activists of the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi on Wednesday tried to storm the Secretariat premises but were thwarted by the security personnel since their plans were leaked beforehand.

The Mrps Activists, whose leader Manda Krishna  Madiga's indefinite hunger strike entered the 5th day on Wednesday, raised slogans against the government and demanded that an all-party delegation should be taken to the Centre to pressurise the categorisation of Schedule Castes.

According to Secretariat sources, the news that the Mrps Activists would make a bid to storm the premises had been leaked beforehand. Accordingly, the police had increased its presence at the gates and also undertook a thorough check.

Meanwhile, Minister for Social Welfare Pithani Satyanarayana, who is on the Sub-Committee of the Cabinet, said that as soon as the state government received appointment from the Centre, the all-party delegation would be taken to New Delhi.
