However, the Chief Minister's Office described the meeting as a ‘courtesy call’, the first after KKR was sworn-in as the Chief Minister on Thursday.

"They discussed about general administrative issues," a CMO official said.

The meeting took place before the Chief Minister leaves for New Delhi later in the evening. His trip to the National Capital will see him thanking the Congress president Sonia Gandhi for choosing him as the state Chief Minister and also discuss the government formation and Cabinet expansion with the party High Command.

Incidentally, KKR also met former Chief Minister K Rosaiah at his residence and sought his advise on the formation of government and Cabinet expansion.

According to sources, Mr Rosaiah warmly greeted his successor and extended his best wishes. Both reportedly discussed the political developments.

Earlier in the day, former Test cricketers Arshad Ayub, Shivlal Yadav and SL Venkatapathi Raju and other members of Hyderabad Cricket Association met KKR, who is also the vice-president of the Association, and extended their greetings.

Arshad Ayub, besides former India captain Md Azharuddin, played alongside the Chief Minister in the Hyderabad under-22 cricket team.

Former ministers J Geetha Reddy, S Vijayarama Raju, R Venkat Reddy and a host of Congress leaders also met the Chief Minister at his Banjara Hills residence.
