PM Modi celebrates International Yoga Day with Yogandhra. The state of Andhra Pradesh played host to the International Yoga Day today on 21 June 2025. Massive arrangements were made in Vizag and PM Modi landed in the city and kickstarted the celebrations performing yoga along with AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu and Dy CM Pawan Kalyan.

The PM emphasizes the theme 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health' and calls for making yoga a global partnership beyond personal practice. He also mentions the 'Yogandra Abhiyan' initiative in Andhra Pradesh and urges a 10% reduction in oil consumption for better health.

PM Modi performed Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) with over 3 lakh participants at the Visakhapatnam venue, synchronised with over 10 lakh locations across the country under the 'Yoga Sangam' initiative. The mass event was held from 6:30 to 7:45 AM.

Alongside PM Modi, Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and State IT Minister Nara Lokesh also participated in the event at RK Beach.

Pawan Kalyan said that if the Rig Veda describes the speciality of yoga, Modi ji has promoted yoga globally. Pawan, who described International Yoga Day as a great honour for India, saluted Adiyogi and Patanjali, the giver of yoga. He expressed the opinion that yoga practitioners overcome stress and achieve success.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that Yoga Day is being celebrated in 130 countries. He said that physical and mental health can be achieved through yoga. Modi has been promoting yoga for the last ten years and said that yoga is not just exercise. He said that it helps in increasing discipline and concentration.

He revealed that tribal students achieved a record with Surya Namaskar as part of this program. On this occasion, the CM opined that yoga should be a part of all sports. Chandrababu Naidu said that yoga will be included in the implementation of Swarnandhra 2047. On the occasion of International Yoga Day, several leaders including Prime Minister Modi and CM Chandrababu jointly released postal stamps.
