Expressing serious concern over the spreading tentacles of corruption in the state, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday wondered how can the people expect a clean administration when the Ministers and officials themselves are corrupt.

Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan after admitting activists from Praja Rajyam Party, Vizianagaram into the TDP fold, Mr Naidu called on his party cadre to focus their attention on highlighting corruption in the government schemes and programmes at each and every level in all districts.

He said that Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who earned crores of rupees through corrupt methods since his father and former chief minister YSR had taken charge, has paid Rs 84 crore as advanced income tax to the government as part of bringing ill-gotten money into circulation.

The former chief minister said that all corrupt Ministers, who accumulated money through dubious methods, were trying to turn these into ‘white money.’

Mr Naidu said that TDP was only party, which launched unrelented fight against corruption and maladministration of government.

The TDP chief stated he has written a letter to Prime Minister over the alleged harassment of microfinance companies in the state.

In his letter, Naidu said that he focused his attention on women and rural women committing suicides unable to repay the loans of firms.

He demanded action on MFIs and the streamlining of their operations.
