Condemning the remarks of senior Telugu Desam Party Leader Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu that N Chandrababu Naidu had been offered the Prime Minister’s post in 1996 itself, Congress MLC Rudraraju Padmaraju on Tuesday stated the TDP president possesses no such capabilities to run the administration in the Centre.
Talking to media persons at the CLP office, Mr Padmaraju said that the TDP has no political base in the state and its candidates have lost deposits in many constituencies in the recent Assembly by-elections.
Mr Muddukrishnama Naidu had reportedly said that his party’s leader had been offered the Prime Minister’s post way back in 1996 itself. However, he refused the post in order to focus on Andhra Pradesh first, according to Mr Muddukrishnama Naidu.
The Congress MLC stated that the TDP chief is wily and knows that he has no scope in the state and that was the reason he was focusing his attention on national politics. Mr Rudraraju added that Mr Naidu was incapable to run the affairs of the country and he has demonstrated his inefficiency by failing ‘totally’ to run the state administration.
The MLC alleged that, “During TDP’s nine-year rule, corruption was rampant in the state. The farmers have committed suicide due to TDP anti-farmer policies.”
