Minister for Mines Balineni Srinivas said that the Odarpu Yatra being taken out by Kadapa Member of Parliament YS Jaganmohan Reddy will continue as usual.
Talking to media persons after the Cabinet Meeting at the Secretariat, Mr Srinivas said that topic of the Kadapa MP’s tour to console the kin of those who died of shock in the aftermath of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s death was not raised at the meeting.
The Minister further added that not even one Minister in the meeting has raised any objection over the Odarpu Yatra which is presently underway in Prakasam district. The Yatra had been temporarily deferred due to Mr Jaganmohan Reddy contracting an eye infection.
Mr Srinivas expressed his desire that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy would become the Chief Minister after the 2014 general elections.
The Minister added that he will bring the comments of senior Congress party leader V Hanumantha Rao on former chief minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy and his family to the notice of the All India Congress Committee High Command.
The Mines Minister regretted that Mr Hanumanta Rao, being a senior party leader should not have made such disparaging comments about other party members and the former chief minister.
