TDP is finished: CM

Expressing happiness over the joining of Telugu Desam  Party women’s   president Roja into the Congress party ,  Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said ``The TDP is finished’’.Interacting  with the media here on Monday  he quipped `` the very fact  that some  leaders of TDP are showing keen interest in joining the Congress indicates that  the TDP is falling apart. The  party cadre lost  faith in the leadership of Chandrababu.  Some of the  TDP leaders feel that there  is no political  future for TDP, so  you find  them deserting TDP.’’Recalling the statement he made about Roja  that  she  would be joining the Congress he asserted  how  credible are his statements.  “ When disclosed  the fact that Roja would be joining the Congress, Chandrababu  threw aspersions on me  saying that  I was spreading rumours.  Now  what statement  will he make?  It  is for you to  make out the truth.  It is not we who are coercing them to join the Congress , it is they themselves who are barging the doors to jump into Congress’’ the Chief Minister explained.

Referring to the  budget session in the assembly which is in progress now , he expressed  his unhappiness over the  sorry state of affairs. The Opposition is  standing as an obstacle for the discussion of budget in a  detailed manner.The Cm further added that he will  brief  Prime Minister Manmohan Singh  about the projects in the  State  for an hour and  half   during his  two-day visit to the state on September 5 and 6.Regarding the State’s  share of gas in KG basin he clarified that he was pressurising the Centre on this issue for a long time.
