Whom to get credit for Maryada Ramanna?

Media sources started to distribute the success ‘Maryada Ramanna’ to various personalities depending upon their own interpretations. Yes, it was true that entire sequences of ‘Maryada Ramanna’ is directly lifted from 1923 Hollywood’s silent comedy flick ‘Our Hospitality’ while Rajamouli hasn’t even cared to offer his thanks or credits to such an old story.

On the other hand title card was given in the form of thanks to Mullapudi Vara for giving them the knowledge of ‘Moola Kathalu and Maaru Moola Kathaulu.’ Even Kanchi (Ambujam of ‘Amrutham’ serial who acted in train scene of Maryada Ramanna), the cousin of Rajamouli was given the share of credit for providing them with a simple story which has the potential of a block buster and it is already known that Story and Dialogues credit was given to Kanchi in the movie titles.

Though it was not a sin to learn or grab the good from any part of the world but it is surely a fault from Rajamouli for not rendering his thanks to original version. Well, the way Rajamouli has remodified the story for our nativity is appreciable, yet people may start doubting on his earlier projects including ‘Magadheera’ which has also gone thorugh the same kind of controversies.
