Lavanya Tripathi had a very unconventional debut as an actress in Telugu cinema through Andaala Rakshasi. The entire plot revolved around her and she got immense scope for the performer in her. She later established herself as a bankable commercial actress but in the process got stereotyped in a series of supposedly cute, next-door-girl roles. Versatility was absent in her choices and she went through a lull-phase until she bounced back with Arjun Suravaram.

This week’s release, A1 Express and her another project, Chaavu Kaburu Challaga, have given Lavanya relatively different roles, which has proven to be a sigh of relief for her. She gets to play a sportsperson in A1 Express and is a lot more than the regular arm-candy heroine in it. The actress has worked hard on her fitness routine and her role is a constant source of motivation for the lead character to achieve greater heights.

With Chaavu Kaburu Challaga, she plays the role of a widow who falls in love with an ambulance driver and claims that this is her massiest role to date. There’s an element of dark humour in the story and the actress feels that the performer in her has been tapped to the fullest here. Though both films feature mid-range heroes like Sundeep Kishan and Karthikeya, the success of the projects can give a new lease of life to Lavanya’s career.
