When Harikrishna Risked His Life

Harikrishna, father of NTR and Kalyan Ram was known for his daring attitude. He who starred in few films later followed his dad senior NTR into politics and got busy with them.

Harikrishna made reentry after 25years gap on screen. When many got scared to do the role of Satyam in Sri Ramulayya, he dared to do it. He couldn't refuse when Paritala Ravi came to him and insisted that he should do the role.

This is because many got scared as it was the role of a naxalite. The role was all about a teacher who turns lecturer and continues with the naxal moment by distributing pamphlets despite his hands were chopped.

Harikrishna used to say that he returned to silver screen only to do message oriented roles like a family head in Seetha Rama Raju, who fought against factionalism in Seetayya, a father who stood by his word in Sivaramaraju, who fought for the farmers in Tiger Harischandra Prasad.

During Lahiri Lahiri Lahirilo shoot, Harikrishna risked his life for a scene. Harikrsihna drives his car head-on against his rival Jayaprakash Reddy and both cars stop on the railway track. Seeing train speeding, Jayaprakash Reddy retreats and when Harikrishna was required to drive forward, car did not start.

Only after 2-3 attempts, car started leaving all tensed. After the incident, the entire unit reverberated with claps. Harikrishna delivers a powerful dialogue during the scene. He thunders 'magadu annaka tegimpu undaliraa.. chavuki manam bhayapadakoodadu.Chaave manalni choosi Bhayapadali' which is apt for Hariskrishna even in real life.
