Daggubati Rana’s awaited debut flick ‘Leader’ has striked the theatres today amidst huge applause. With a genuine attempt from Sekhar Kammula targeting the foul political system, ‘Leader’ is sure to attract the audience in some aspects. While many are discussing about Sekhar Kammula’s experience of handling a hero from star family, it is good that at least a few where known to be concentrating at Rana’s abilities as an actor.
There is no doubt that Rana’s selection of the role of Arjun Prasad is a brave attempt but it also need guts to accept such kind of underplaying character by a debutant and that too coming from a family like Daggubati.
Many of film critics are viewing Daggubati Rana’s role in ‘Leader’ having the striking resemblances to Nara Rohith in ‘Baanam’ because both the movies tried to project the evils in the society and a mechanism of social corrections urgently needed to heal the wounds of people in the state. Both heroes Rana and Nara Rohith have performed their best in these under playing roles which usually strike the chord only with few sections of people.
While ‘Baanam’ has reached the target of hitting the critics, one must wait and see how our Leader will end up with its quasi political formula. So, Rana is connected in his debut with Nara Rohith without any question mark.
