Pokiri, Magadheera& Adurs: Changing the trends.

Telugu cinema might have traveled a long distance from long back black and white to today’s modern UFO technology. There was a unique trend of hero worship that is found in South Indian film industry and especially in Tollywood from early days.

Remembering the trends from the times of NTR to today’s Ramcharan, there is always a huge diaspora of fans spread across the world publicizing the records of their demi gods.

If days after the technological advancements are covered and databases are maintained, in early days fans of our heroes majorly concentrated on their hero’s acting abilities as their records. Later the trend shifted to counting the number of theatres in which their favorite hero’s movie has completed 50, 100, 150, 175 or even 200 days and it was useless catfights that even destroyed the good relations between many heroes.

Now, the latest trend that is titling towards Producers and Distributors earnings is almost a safest mode. After ‘Pokiri’ collecting nearly 50crores of revenue, records have been looked after in terms of collections but not the number of theatres in which 100 days or 150 days have been celebrated. ‘Magadheera’ has further made this trend to go deeper penetrated into the fans section and now ‘Adhurs’ has still made this trend to stay in Tollywood for years and years to come.
