If Tollywood has to analyze and debate on reasons behind why are yesterday’s writers becoming today’s directors, there is a big list of names to look and study at. Right from Trivikram Srinivas, Koratala Siva to young batch of Anil Ravipudi, there are chances of even Gopi Mohan to add.

Koratala Siva achieved superb success with ‘Srimanthudu’ spoke his inner heartache feelings out in open explaining the exploitation of writers in cinema field. He expressed deep concern regarding the improper identification for writers.

‘Like there is a slogan of Save Tigers, we must begin a campaign called Save Writers. Our writers should be considered as real tigers and their rights have to be conserved else there will be a shortage of story writers in future. They are neither getting professional satisfaction nor monetary satisfaction for whatever creative hard work put in. In fact, our creativity is stolen and looted.

Never do we see any compliments or appreciations forwarded for writers’ community. Earlier, we used to mug in between four walls crying for our share of recognition. But, today every capable writer is evolving as director to demand his share of acknowledgement. This is high time there is a need for change in mindset of our directors. Give writers their due respect,’ Siva spoke anguishly on a burning Tollywood issue.
