Brahmanandam, the Guinness Book record holder and top most earning comedian in Indian film history might have come closer to end his dominating era in Telugu cinema. Agreed that Brahmi is a versatile artist and blessed us with bundles of fun based entertainment with his unique skill. Apparently, it’s the talented writers who provided him wide range of comic characters and Brahmi lived in them with proper care.
However, there were repeated arguments and charges of criticism aimed at Brahmi these days when his roles are becoming monotonous and boring. Blame it chiefly on Kona Venkat who prepared a strong template wherein Brahmi comes in second half of films to make a stunning impact with racy narration as he himself becomes a doormat and scapegoat locked in hero’s trap sketched in villain’s den. Somehow, we have even seen movies like ‘Dookudu’ where Brahmi got full length delightful roles.
‘I am also bored of my template. I changed my style for forthcoming films. You will not see my regular flavor in Ramcharan - Srinu Vytla, Akhil - VV Vinayak, Sunil - Dil Raju and Shankarabharanam films. We prepared the stories and scripts with no routine comedy,’ Kona Venkat promised. This means, Brahmanandam’s importance is clearly to take a beating. For those writers who built a strong platform for Brahmi to survive, it’s time to challenge a change.
