Bahubali - Where to Edit, What to Edit?

If SS Rajamouli, Senthil Kumar and Sabu Cyril are the tough nails to work on the location for the completion of ‘Bahubali’ shooting, it’s alone editor Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao took the big challenge of editing the whole content. Being visual effects dominated magnum opus with lengthy portions shot so as not to miss any smallest of grandeur imparting element, it is so hard on editing table on what to edit and where to cut short?

Kotagiri’s team might have had a tough time trimming the first part to keep it balanced at 159 minutes of run time. Unlike other Telugu directors who would like to preserve crispness in narration with short runtime length, Rajamouli never encourages on locking his films at short runtime because his main thought lies in telling the story to utmost perfection.

When characters, artists and story are connected well with audience, there would be no harm in controlling or extending the time span. Despite ‘Bahubali’ is relatively a lengthy film with current movie standards, we can be confident on having a lengthy visual feast for our eyes.
