What is the Commercial Value of 'Eega'?

‘The brand of SS Rajamouli is enough to rake the moolah in Tollywood.’ This is not an apprehension but a familiar belief many of our Telugu audience and trade pundits has. Can any film stand only on the brand strength of a Director? Does Hero or Heroine or lead star cast do not have their own share of giving Commercial Identity to a film? What is your answer…Yes or No?

Well, here is an interesting exercise few of exhibitors in overseas market are going through before investing on ‘Eega.’ However, in domestic market SS Rajamouli is the most favorable director on whom any exhibitor or distributor can bet bottom dollar on. Even then B & C centers always look for garden variety of big heroes and heroines on posters which ‘Eega’ of course do not have. Same seems to be the drawback for overseas market as some of the exhibitors have reported us on what is the definite commercial value of ‘Eega’ which does not have any big celebrity faces attached. Given the scenario of high prices quoted by distributors for various areas, the categorical question from exhibitors would be…can SS Rajamouli alone or his dream visual graphics able to save ‘Eega’? Let us wait and see…how many will risk on this?
