The multitude of actor Nagarjuna’s fans are all set to applaud their idol when his much awaited film ‘Gaganam’ will be released across the globe on February 11.

The film, which portrays Nagarjuna as a commando who tackles hijackers of an airplane, also stars Sana Khan, Poonam Kaur, Harshavardhan, Bharath Reddy, Rishi and others in supporting roles. Prakash Raj and Brahmanandam also play important roles.

Nagarjuna, for the first time in his career, will not romance a leading lady since he is a commando in the film. This movie is based on the infamous hijack case of Indian Airlines Flight 814 to Kandahar in 1999. A major part of the film was shot in a plane, in Himachal Pradesh and Hyderabad.

The film showcases how passengers who boarded the plane were forced to undergo the traumatic experience after it was hijacked.

The actor claims that ‘Gaganam’ is an experimental film and expressed confidence that the audience would appreciate the efforts of the unit who have made tried to portray the human passions.

The film is directed by ‘Aakasamantha’ fame Radha Mohan and produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. It is produced in association with Matinee Entertainment. 

The film will be released simultaneously in both Telugu and Tamil versions. The Tamil version is being produced by Prakash Raj as `Payanam.’

The music of the film has been composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The Censor Board has awarded `U’ certificate for the film.
