The Paradise Team Telangana Tour Amidst Strong Performance in Nizam
Natural Star Nani and The Paradise team visited Sri Gattamma Devasthanam in Mulugu and Sri Sammakka Saralamma Devasthanam in Medaram, seeking divine blessings. The visit carries special significance because the film is deeply rooted in Telangana, with Sammakka’s legacy and the struggle of a marginalised community forming important elements of its narrative.
Directed by Srikanth Odela, The Paradise is set in 1980s Secunderabad and draws from real life incidents the filmmaker witnessed while growing up in Telangana. The story revolves around the Savari community and Sammakka, played by Sonali Kulkarni, whose fight for identity and recognition connects strongly with Telangana’s cultural landscape.
The Nizam region has emerged as a particularly strong market for The Paradise despite mixed reviews. Trade reports put its five day Nizam share near ₹30 crore, including around ₹1.5 crore on Monday excluding GST. The territory has also crossed ₹50 crore gross, showing substantial weekday holding after its record opening.
Nizam’s reported pre release theatrical value was around ₹35 crore, making it one of Nani’s biggest regional deals. The Paradise opened strongly across Telangana, with the region’s familiarity with its setting, local cultural references and Sammakka connection adding relevance. Compared with several other territories, Nizam has displayed stronger sustained momentum.
