Censor Board diktats delaying release of films

Reports are coming that Censor Board hurdles are delaying the release of many films in Tollywood and this is giving sleepless nights to the producers.

It is coming out that Allari Naresh's hilarious entertainer Rambha Oorvasi Menaka is slated for a grand release on 3 Sep 2026. However inside talk is it may get delayed as censor certification is yet to be completed. The censor board asked the makers to do away with the scenes of the actresses as Rambha Oorvasi Menaka in modern attires and replace them with sarees.

The makers are planning to approach the revising committee to make their point if the problem is not resolved. Prashanth Neel's 418 film bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers which was supposed to release in July got postponed indefinitely. The film is a horror film but still the censor board felt that there was excess horror and asked the makers to to away with the content. The makers are now planning to approach the revising committee.

Varun Tej's Korean Kanakaraju also faced the similar issue. Censor Board felt that the film directed by Merlapaka Gandhi would tarnish the relations between India and Korea. The makers spent lot of time to convince the Censor Board. There are many small films, that faced problems from the censor board and the makers were made to change their titles at the last minute whih gave sleepless nights to the producers and increase the production and promotions cost.
