Sanjay Dutt Film Aakhri Sawal Gets Special Screening At Rashtrapati Bhavan

Sanjay Dutt’s new movie Aakhri Sawal got a special show at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday, May 17. The film released in theatres on May 15. It tells the 100 year story of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Delhi CM Rekha Gupta praised the film before release. She called it powerful and important. On day two, the movie made 73 lakh net in India across 1894 shows. That is an 82.5 percent jump from day one. But the total collection is still low at 1.15 crore. The film was made on a budget of around 30 to 40 crores.
The film stars Sanjay Dutt as Professor Gopal Nadkarni. Namashi Chakraborty plays a student named Vicky. The story is about a big TV debate. Vicky’s thesis on RSS history gets rejected by the professor. This leads to a heated live debate on India’s past. The cast also has Amit Sadh, Sameera Reddy, Tridha Choudhury, and Neetu Chandra. National Award winner Abhijeet Mohan Warang directed the film. He is known for the Marathi movie Picasso. Sanjay Dutt was last seen in the Dhurandhar series. He has also announced a Khalnayak sequel.
Aakhri Sawal is banned in the UAE. The censor board there asked for many cuts. The makers said no and kept the same version as India. They did not want to change the film for release. This is common for political films in Gulf countries. The Rashtrapati Bhavan screening got a lot of talk in political and film circles. The guest list is not public yet. The event happened because of the film’s topic and timing.
The movie has started many debates across the country. Some people support its view on history. Others have raised questions. The makers faced legal issues before release but cleared them. The film is still playing in theatres with limited shows. The team hopes the Rashtrapati Bhavan screening will bring more viewers. They believe the film shows an important part of India’s journey over 100 years.
