Priyanka Chopra Praises Varanasi A Global Adventure with a Mythological Twist

Priyanka Chopra, the global icon, has made some exciting comments about her upcoming Telugu film Varanasi, directed by SS Rajamouli. This action-adventure thriller is set against the backdrop of African forests and features a mythological twist, making it a unique addition to Indian cinema.

Priyanka, who plays the female lead alongside Mahesh Babu, said, "As long as we watch the film, we will travel through time.. We will travel around the world.. This is a great adventure. I think this film is going to be very cool. In a way, it will go down as a definition in the history of Indian cinema".

The film's storyline revolves around an asteroid strike in Varanasi, India, and a mysterious saviour's mission to prevent a global catastrophe. Mahesh Babu plays Rudhra, a Shiva devotee sent on a mission through time, while Priyanka Chopra plays Mandakini, a mysterious thief. Prithviraj Sukumaran is cast as the main antagonist, Kumbha.

With a budget of approximately ₹1,200 crores, Varanasi is expected to be one of the most expensive Indian films ever made. The film is scheduled to release on April 7, 2027, in standard and IMAX formats.
