Megastar Chiranjeevi's highly anticipated film Vishwambhara may have missed a major OTT opportunity. The fantasy epic, directed by Mallidi Vassishta, was reportedly offered close to ₹100 Cr for digital rights in 2023, but the deal was never closed. This marks a significant setback for the film, considering the current slowdown in the OTT market.

Vishwambhara is the biggest project in Chiranjeevi's illustrious career, featuring Trisha Krishnan and Ashika Ranganath as the female leads. Music is composed by legendary composer M. M. Keeravani, adding to the film's grand scale. The project has faced significant delays due to extensive VFX work, with the release now expected in July 2026.

The OTT market was at its peak when Vishwambhara was announced in 2023, with streaming platforms ready to offer close to ₹100 Cr for digital rights. However, the producers did not finalize the deal, and now securing even two-thirds of the earlier offer has become difficult. Negotiations are ongoing, with Zee5 and JioHotstar reportedly in the race to bag the digital rights.

The team is planning to release a new video glimpse soon, showcasing upgraded visuals and the true scale of the film. Earlier promotional content faced criticism, especially regarding VFX quality, making the upcoming glimpse extremely crucial. Vishwambhara is set to release in July, 2026, and is expected to be a major theatrical event.
