Sandhya Theatre Stampede Case Charge sheet Returned By Court

Nampally Court in Hyderabad has returned the charge sheet filed by police in the Sandhya Theatre Stampede Case, citing procedural and technical errors. The court noted that key evidence and official documents were missing, including digital evidence like hard disks, CDs, and pen drives.

On December 4, 2024, a massive crowd gathered at Sandhya Theatre for Pushpa 2 The Rule premiere, resulting in 35 year old Revathi's death and her 9 year old son Sreetej's serious injuries. The main allegations include security lapses, failure in crowd control, and poor technical management. A total of 23 people, including actor Allu Arjun, private security team members, and theatre management officials, have been named in the charge sheet.

Police officials stated that the investigation is complete, but the charge sheet was returned due to uncertified errors. They claim to have attached all necessary evidence and documents and resubmitted the charge sheet. This is the second time the court has returned the charge sheet due to technical mistakes.

Legal experts believe the court will begin hearings soon on the revised charge sheet. The next hearing will likely involve a careful examination of submitted evidence. The case has sparked controversy, with allegations of negligence against the theatre management and Allu Arjun.
