Rana Daggubati Says He Is Not That Hot Guy

Rana Daggubati opened up about his health complications post Baahubali 2, revealing he returned film advances as he no longer looked like the "hot guy" filmmakers had cast. He faced serious health issues, including kidney failure and heart problems, and took a long break for treatment and recovery in the US.

Rana underwent a transplant and focused on survival, not his career or image. After a year of disciplined recovery, he realised he no longer resembled the physically imposing characters he earlier played. He returned advances for signed films, including a big wrestler story, as he didn't look like those characters anymore.

A moment with an immigration officer who recognised him as King Bhallaladeva brought back memories of his pre-surgery life. Meeting actor Varun Tej made him realise his changed appearance. Rana became more selective about projects post-recovery, starring in Kaantha, Mirai, and Parasakthi.

Rana returned to streaming with Rana Naidu Season 2 on Netflix and hosted The Rana Daggubati Show on Prime Video. He also lent his voice to Solo Leveling anime series. Rana's health struggles have made him more focused on his choices.
