The highly anticipated AK64, starring Ajith and directed by Adhik Ravichandran, has been put on hold due to the actor's high remuneration demands. Ajith is reportedly asking for ₹170 crore, pushing the total budget to over ₹300 crore.

Producers are struggling to secure funding, as they're unsure if the project will generate enough revenue to break even. The film's budget has become a major concern, with producers feeling that it's not recoverable. Despite discussions with several Tamil and Telugu producers, no deal has been finalized.

The main issue is that the theatrical share of Ajith's previous blockbuster Good Bad Ugly was around 120 - 140 crore, leaving a significant gap to recover the remaining 60% of the budget. Ajith's last film, Good Bad Ugly, grossed ₹250 crore worldwide, but that may not be enough to justify the current budget.

The project might be feasible if the budget was around ₹200 crore, but Ajith's remuneration alone is ₹170 crore, making it a challenge. OTT platforms are no longer offering massive deals, adding to the producers' woes. Fans are eagerly waiting for the film, but it seems that Ajith's high remuneration is putting the project on the backburner for now.
