Akshaye Khanna kickstarts Mahakali. It is known that Akshaye Khanna is set to make his Telugu debut with Prashant Varma's Mahakali. Akshaye Khanna is currently on a high with the sensation of Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar and following that he walked out of the Hindi Drishyam project.

In the midst of all this, Akshaye Khanna shared that he started shooting for Mahakali. Director Puja Aparna Kolluru shared "Grateful 2025! You pushed me beyond my limits and introduced me to me!"

Akshaye Khanna will be seen in the role of Demons Guru Sage Shuracharya and Bhoomi Shetty will be playing the lead role of Maha in the film.

RKD Studios is bankrolling the project in a prestigious project.Mahakali happens to be first female super hero film and it is part of Prashanth Varma's Cinematic Universe. Akshaye walked out of the Drishyam 3 due to differences over remuneration.

A source shares "Akshaye was menacing as the villain in Chhaava, while he stole the show, and how, in Dhurandhar. He has become the next big thing. Realising the same, he decided to revise his fees. Accordingly, he asked for Rs 21 crore from the makers of Drishyam 3."
