Rana To Produce Manoj Bajpayee Starrer Last Man in Tower

Actor producer Rana Daggubati has officially entered Hindi film production with the adaptation of Booker Prize winning author Aravind Adiga’s celebrated novel Last Man in Tower. Spirit Media, Daggubati’s banner, will back the project, starring veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee in the lead role and Ben Rekhi as director.

The announcement was made during the promotional event for Spirit Media’s debut Tamil production Kaantha, a period noir thriller starring Dulquer Salmaan. Rana described the Hindi venture as a “new chapter” for Spirit Media, emphasizing its mission to narrate globally relevant stories across multiple languages .

Set against contemporary India, the film delves into the moral dilemmas of ambition, the fragility of relationships, and the shifting social fabric, mirroring the novel’s intense thematic depth. Rana highlighted the partnership with Manoj Bajpayee, noting his extensive repertoire of iconic roles, which makes the collaboration ideal for bringing Adiga’s intricate narrative to life.

The project is part of Spirit Media’s ambitious five film slate spanning Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi markets. In addition to Last Man in Tower, the studio is developing Dark Chocolate, a pulpy thriller dark comedy co produced with Waltair Productions; Psyche Siddharth, a debut feature that Spirit Media will present and distribute along with Premante, a love comedy thriller backed by debut producer Jhanvi Narang.
