Why Bison is preferred over Arjun Chakravarthy?. Dhruv Vikram, son of Chiyaan Vikram's Bison-Kaalamadan directed by Mari Selvaraj hit the screens in Telugu one week after its release in Tamil. The film got good response and people are raving about the film hailing Dhruv Vikram's performance and Mari Selvaraj's bold take on village restrictions, caste politics, politics in selection in Kabaddi team etc.

The film is based on the real life incidents in the journey of Kabaddi player Manathi Ganesan and how he overcame caste discrimination in  a village in Thoothukudi. Manathi Ganesan, an Arjuna awardee said  "I thought cinema would be very easy. Just like how I strived in sports, they have also worked very hard to make this film." He added "The happiness I felt after playing the 1994 Asian Games, director Mari has portrayed excellently in the film."

Arjun Chakravarthy is a Telugu film which starred Vijaya Rama Raju in the lead under the direction of Vikrant Rudra. The film is based on the life of Nagulaiah,  from Nalgonda, Telangana and is set between 1980 and 1996. Producer Srini Gubbala said  “Nagulaiah is an excellent Kabaddi player in Nalgonda, and is also known as Arjun. This story has been made with 60 percent of events from his life and with 40 percent of fiction.”

Both the films followed similar tropes and both the players overcame all the difficulties and went on to represent India in the game of Kabaddi. Where Bison scores over Arjun Chakravarthy is the top production house, renowned director and the protagonist, who is the son of the top actor. To the top of it, Telugu movie lovers often have that fascination for Kollywood's raw and rustic taking on the big screen.
