Rajinikanth Aiming To Release Two Films In 2026

Superstar Rajinikanth is aiming to release two films in 2026, a feat that sets him apart from his contemporaries and young superstars who often take years between their films. Currently, Rajinikanth's film Jailer 2 is in production and expected to wrap up by the end of this year or early 2026, with a planned summer-end 2026 release.

Following Jailer 2, Rajinikanth will team up with Kamal Haasan for a multistarrer project, although this film will take some time to begin production due to the director yet to be finalized and extensive pre-production work. Rajinikanth's reunion with Kamal Haasan has generated significant excitement, with Lokesh Kanagaraj rumored to direct. However, Rajinikanth clarified that the director and script are yet to be finalized. The film will be produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Red Giant Movies.

The superstar is reportedly planning to complete a quick project in the meantime, with Vels and Aishwarya Rajinikanth set to produce and Sundar C in talks to helm. If everything goes as planned, Rajinikanth is likely to have two releases in 2026, Jailer 2 around summer end and another film for the Diwali release. Sundar C is currently occupied with Mookuthi Amman 2, starring Nayanthara, which boasts an impressive ensemble cast.
