The emotional speech of Mega Brother Naga Babu at ‘Mirapakaya’ audio release has become the subject of industry. The spicy ‘Mirapakaya’ topic of Directors failing to deliver their best thus straining the Producers resources may have different analysis from different personalities but Naga Babu blaming all the Directors isn’t an encouraging and valid point, say many of film pundits.

Directors like Ramgopal Varma, Rajamouli and VV Vinayak are rare breed materials who enriched the field and have their own styles of working. Movie making is a collective team effort and director is like captain of the team. This doesn’t mean that failure of any department in delivering the expected output in stipulated time should also be shouldered upon as a director’s failure. Varma might not be able to complete a project like ‘Magadheera’ or ‘Aadi’ in that time frame as done by Rajamouli and Vinayak. Of course vice versa is applied for Varma’s ‘Raktha Charitra’ or ‘Sarkar’ which can never be the cup of tea for others.

So more than making alone the Director as culprit, it is the responsibility of every team member including that of Producer to work in tandem. If such is not the case, then Tollywood can never be saved. C. Kalyan rightly corrected Naga Babu’s statements by making them not applicable to proved directors like Rajamouli and Vinayak sitting on the stage. For time being, it is these two who are spared from Naga Babu’s blame list. Wish that many more join them and make our industry still prouder.
