Narain Karthikeyan about Ajith as F1 racer

It is known that Narain Karthikeyan joined Kollywood star Ajith's racing team. Now, speaking to scribes Karthikeyan spoke about Ajith.

He said “He announced that he was racing in the Porsche Super Cup at the Dubai Autodrome. That track had never seen a crowd like that before - 50,000 people cheering for him.” and said Ajith was very down to earth.

Karthikeyan and Ajith are set to race together in the upcoming Asian Le Mans Series, with the hope of eventually qualifying for the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans in France.

On how the collaboration happened, Karthikeyan said  "Ajith shared his plan of creating a truly Indian team with Indian drivers. Initially, I brushed it off, but six months later he called me again and said, ‘Let’s do this,’”

Ajith was in touch with karthikeyan since 2000. Karthikeyan said  “He always wanted to learn, and I would give him tips about tracks in England. That’s when I realised he was very genuine and deeply committed to motorsport,”

He shared “The last 18 months he’s put in a lot of effort into his driving. He’s talented, but like all drivers, he’s had his share of incidents. Now he has become a much better and a competitive driver,”

He added “He’s easy to get along with, eager to learn from professionals, and genuinely committed to building something for Indian motorsport. I’m really looking forward to this journey,”
